I received a new (to me) lens from MPB today and was excited to finally be able to use a lens native to my XT1. I ordered the 18-55mm F2.4-4 Fuji lens for its supposed versatility and dependability.I went for a lens with a bigger focal range since I have been using a prime lens fixed on F1.8 for a long time. The ability to manipulate aperture and focal length is now very freeing. Years of a 50mm prime lens wears you down some and I found that my photos relied heavily on background blur for composition.

A little trip to New York with my Tita in October. We enjoyed exploring a little bit of Long Island and a what little you can squeeze into a 3 day trip to New York City.Some insights:
Walking 15,000+ steps a day on concrete sucks --> maybe I should train for my next vacation (?)
Everything is expensive except for public transit
I enjoy the quiet of public transit, reminds me of a coffee shop
People in public don't tend to smile, but shop keepers are generally amicable
